Period Tracking Apps, do they really work?

By Waiswa Wafula

You might be wondering whether period tracking apps are really that accurate. Yes, they should be if you are a woman with a regular flow and updates the app regularly. This is because these apps depend on accurate input from the user to generate the best results. These results include; an estimated ovulation day, a five – six day fertile window and the date of your next period.

In cases of an irregular or variable cycle, Dr. Kudesia a gynecologist in Huston USA says the apps should not miss the entire fertile window, it may be unable to pinpoint the exact day of ovulation.

According to Ida Tin, the CEO of Clue, a period tracker app, there are many reasons for women to track their periods. It helps one know and understand her unique cycle patterns, fertility window and sex drive which increases your health and wellness awareness.

Tracking your fertility cycle will come in handy if you are looking to get pregnant, you will be notified on the days leading up to and after ovulation occurs which is when you are most fertile. In addition, period tracking will help chronicle any symptoms during your cycle.

Thankfully there are a dozen of period tracking apps available for download for android and IOS users, here are some of the best apps we gathered for you here at Dada.
